A Bit About Our History as the GCNCC

The Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry Founded  in 1997 & Incorporated in 1998.Planning and networking for the good of all

Many business people in the area felt their concerns were being ignored by the various levels of government and decided that they needed proper representation to act on their behalf.

John Wright, Ray Smith and David Mattner approached businesses in the surrounding areas incorporating Oxenford, Hope Island, Sanctuary Cove, Paradise Point, Runaway Bay, Biggera Waters, Arundel and Labrador with the idea of forming a Chamber of Commerce where a united force would be established.

A steering committee was formed, and with a diligent effort established the Gold Coast North Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. The Chamber was accepted by Commerce Queensland and has become an active member of the Gold Coast Combined Chamber of Commerce.

Our Chamber now enjoys the reputation as one of the most progressive on the Coast, thanks to the great support we receive from the businesses in our area. The Gold Coast North Chamber covers quite a large area, starting at the Coomera River through to Napper Road Labrador.

Although our main objective is lobbying governments to get the best outcome for our members, we do take on other roles such as mediation, which has proved quite successful.
We have representation on many Council and State Government projects.
We support the local community and schools in our area. We sponsor school business activities such as Australian Business Week, provide job opportunities for apprenticeships and work experience projects.

The Chamber meets each month to discuss relevant issues and to initiate improvement in our operating practices, such as providing information and networking activities for our members. All members are welcome to our meetings.
We encourage members to utilise other members businesses.
