Gold Coast North Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCNCC) has established a joint venture with Business Clinic Australia (BCA) a business unit under the umbrella of Management Skills Alliance Pty. Ltd. to provide assistance and advice to micro businesses.
The sessions will commence on Friday each week initially at “Sails by the Sea” (the old game fishing club) Marine Cres. Hollywell.
The Small Business Clinic will operate similarly to a medical clinic. A company owner will be provided a one hour appointment with a member of the BCA team to discuss the business and receive correcting suggestions for implementation or be referred to a specialist if necessary.
BCA also has a start up kit for those commencing business providing a set of steps as a check list.
How it works:
- The Business must have 5 employees or less
- Management must email or call for an appointment
- They will be sent a form to complete and return prior to the appointment, providing the BCA team with a snapshot of the business.
- They will be provided a date and time for a one hour appointment.
- Meetings will be held one on one with privacy strictly maintained
- A confidentiality and non disclosure agreement signed by BCA will protect the privacy and intellectual property of the business.
- A subsidised fee of $82.50 will be required prior to the meeting time. Payment may be paid directly through the secure GCNCC web site.

Former Queensland State of Origin Star Ben Ikin has been appointed General Manager of Marketing for the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans.
“While his football credentials are well documented, Ben also comes to us with a wealth of business and marketing experience having been in a senior management position with a major international engineering firm and having six years of marketing experience behind him.
“He is someone with a great passion for the game of rugby league and is a local Gold Coaster.”

Big Round of Applause for Brad Horrocks
Brad Horrocks from Secure Office Services selfishly at no cost set up the original website for the Chamber. Then from that day on until now has updated and maintained the GCNCC website, once again at no cost to members.
The original website served a great purpose and remains the highest ranking Chamber of Commerce website in the region.
The Gold Coast North Chamber of Commerce and Industry owe Brad more than a round of applause for his tireless commitment to the members.
It was not fair to continually burden Brad or anyone with the task of maintaining the website for free. So now the new Chamber of Commerce website is self funding paying a token fee for the maintenance.The new website also allows multiple editors which also spreads the work load across the Committee Members.
The new website also gives the Chamber of Commerce Members better exposure and increased the value of being a Member of the Chamber
The new Chamber website has advertising space, which is very inexpensive however still is a very effective way for members to advertise.
