The Gold Coast North Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc (ABN 89 535 831 501) (“GCNCC”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use and store it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, including:

• Contact enquiries — when you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and (optionally) your phone number, business name and the message you send.
• Event notifications — if you ask to be notified when tickets open for an event, we collect your email address.
• Membership, event registrations and payments — these are handled through our membership platform (Wave), which collects the details needed to process your membership, bookings and payments.
• Newsletter — if you subscribe, we collect your email address so we can send Chamber updates.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information, and we do not require you to create an account to browse the site.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

• respond to your enquiries and requests;
• manage memberships, events and bookings;
• let you know when event tickets become available, if you asked us to;
• send you Chamber news and updates where you have subscribed or are a member; and
• improve our services and this website.

We will not sell your personal information, and we will not use it for purposes unrelated to those above without your consent.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run the Chamber and this website, and only as needed for those services. These include our:

• membership, event registration and payment platform;
• email and communications providers;
• website hosting and content management providers;
• email delivery provider; and
• analytics and marketing providers (such as Google and Meta).

We may also disclose information where required by law. We never sell or rent your information to third parties for marketing.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it function and to understand how it is used. These include:

• essential cookies needed for the site to work, and to keep you signed in to the member area;
• analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that help us understand website traffic and improve the site; and
• marketing tools (such as the Meta/Facebook pixel) that help us measure and share relevant information about the Chamber.

These analytics and marketing tools may set cookies and share limited usage data with the relevant providers. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser opt-out add-on, and manage your ad preferences through your Facebook/Meta account and your browser settings.

Storing and protecting your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including using reputable providers and secure, encrypted connections. Some of our providers store data on servers located outside Australia. By providing your information, you consent to it being stored and processed in this way, subject to the protections in this policy.

Keeping your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from our communications at any time. To do so, contact us at hello@gcncc.org.au.
